Annual General Meeting coming up
At the beginning of the month, all members were excited to receive the engaging emails announcing our eagerly awaited AGM, a crucial yearly gathering for the lively KTL community! This special event will showcase our outstanding accomplishments from the past year, recognize the efforts of our diligent committee, and, crucially, appoint a new committee from our outstanding group of committed members.
The Annual General Meeting of the members of Kingston Toy Library Inc will be held on Wednesday 6 November 2024 at 8:00pm via Google Meet
Join us from the comfort of your couch and learn all about what a great year 2024 has been for our toy library and earn 1 duty hour!
Your support is vital to the continued success of the library. Without member volunteers on the Toy Library committee, sadly, under law, the library will need to close.Â
We currently have a number of great roles available. These roles only require a commitment of 3-4 hours a month (done from home!) - more than meeting your duty levy requirements, and with the added bonus of knowing your contribution is helping to keep open a service that we and all our kids love! These roles are:
Secretary:Â document agenda and minutes for the monthly committee meetings, participate in committee decision making
Treasurer:Â support the assistant treasurer with Xero processing, payroll and various associated lodgements, monthly membership reconciliations, quarterly finance reports, expense approvals and analysis when required and preparation of yearly financial statements and income tax declaration
Talks Coordinator:Â liaise with local Maternal Child Health, playgroups and member volunteers to arrange talks to new parent groups to inform them about the Toy LibraryÂ
General Committee:Â provide support to other committee members as required, e.g. ad-hoc grant submissions, policy refreshes, event support

Toy Libraries Australia disability & toy library forum
Toy Libraries Australia (TLA), the leading organisation representing and championing toy libraries nationwide, is proactively exploring ways to enhance inclusivity for children with disabilities and their families within toy library settings.
TLA is actively conducting a series of focused group discussions both in-person and online throughout the country and is eager for families to participate. For more information, please refer to the provided document.
New Open times
Our trial of open times extensions was a resounding success! These new times will be effective starting from November 1, 2024.
Monday 2pm- 4.30pm
Friday 9.30am- 12pm
Saturday 9.30am- 1pm
